TALLAHASSEE, - The Florida Pharmacy Association is pleased to announce that David “Chachi” Mackarey, RPh., Florida licensed pharmacist, practicing in South Florida for almost 30 years has been selected as president elect of the FPA. David who is a native of Scranton, Pennsylvania received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh where he was the recipient of the prestigious ‘Outstanding Senior Student Award’ from the University.

David's professional pharmacy experience includes chain, as well as independent & specialty pharmacies. Most recently, he has created and formed his own company ‘3DPMhealthcare, LLC.’, that involves MTM, CCM, & pharmacogenetics. David also has additional professional training including: Certification in the Pharmacy Immunization Program, CPR Certified, as well as holding a credential for Citizens Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.).

In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, tennis, skiing, photography and spending time with friends & family, especially watching his daughter Madalyn perform, as she pursues her musical theater career.

David has been actively locally with the Palm Beach County Pharmacy Association and is the outgoing Speaker of the FPA House of Delegates.  He has served on the FPA Professional Affairs Council, Membership Committee and also served on the FPA Board as Regional Director.  He also serves on the FPA Governmental Affairs Committee and Presidents Committee and has qualified as an active member of the #1 Club.

In his community he has facilitated annual toy drives and scholarship program fundraisers for the Palm Beach County Pharmacy Association and is a volunteer at local AIDS Awareness planning and events.

David will be installed as President Elect at the 128th Annual meeting and convention of the FPA on July 15th at the Hyatt Regency Bonita Springs.
