As a condition of re-licensure or renewing their registration Florida pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are required to complete a Florida Department of Health Approved continuing education program on Medication Errors. At the completion of this activity, pharmacists
will be able to: Define elements of a Continuous Quality Improvement
Program; Restructure a pharmacy practice to address quality related events;
Analyze some common causes of quality related events; Implement an action plan
to address quality of care in pharmacies with a goal towards error reduction
and prevention; Recite quality improvement regulations for Florida pharmacies;
Implement programs to improve patient safety in pharmacy health care
At the completion of this activity, pharmacy
technicians will be able to: Recognize elements of a continuous
quality improvement program; Interpret established pharmacy procedures and
policies to improve patient safety; Identify common causes of quality related
events; Recognize quality improvement regulations for Florida pharmacies;
Demonstrate how quality improvement programs improve patient safety in pharmacy
health care systems.
